Thoughts from Hannah

Hola amigos! The llamos Hannah! ..I think that is right ;) wow! First off let me start by saying how beautiful Guatemala is! But, as much as I would love to just spend a week here sight seeing and enjoying the culture, that is not what we are here for. We are having breakfast in about 15 minutes (which is actually cooked, not just a bowl of cereal) !! Then, we start our work day. None of us know what to really know what to expect with our work projects, but I am trusting god to put me in the right place that I need to be. Yesterday, we were able to go into the home and meet the children. Of course, I went straight to the area with all the cribs. As I looked into one, I noticed she was just waking up, she had snot caking her nose and I could tell something was not quite right with her. I was told she is 80-90% blind and had no ears, so I am assuming she is deaf. I was also told it is a concern that she is autistic. I have a big heart for people with special needs! I scooped her up and held her for a couple hours and fed her. She didn't really know what was going on, but she was very happy just being held. I am asking for prayers for this baby. Her name is Victoria and I have know idea how old she is or her story. I will try to find that information out this week and share it. I'm not sure how her quality of life would be, but she is a beautiful baby! I am asking for prayers for her not sure what to ask for, just please keep her in your prayers. Well, the workweek starts in about an hour! I am so anxious to see what god has in store for our group this week!! Adios!
